Office Communications
When you are emailing the office, please be sure to email both Mrs. de Langen at mdelangen@kingsschools.org and Miss Soriano at ksoriano@kingsschools.org. Any change in student pick-up at the end of the day needs to go through the office.  This is the only way to be sure your student gets the message.  If you send an email to the teacher, he/she may not be available to respond due to teaching students.  Please Call Mrs. de Langen or Miss Soriano at 206-546-7258.

Prayer Group
We have a Moms in Prayer group going that meets most Fridays from 10-11 a.m. in Woodway at the home of Gregg and LaFon Jantz.  On Friday, September 29th, we’ll be hosting an Open House beginning at 10 a.m. on the hour.  We’ll welcome anyone interested in visiting our group and introduce the Moms in Prayer format to those who haven’t used it before.  Coffee, tea, and breakfast items will be offered. The group is open to any mom, aunt, or grandma who wants to pray for their school-aged children.  You are free to invite friends – moms and grandmas come from both King and Snohomish counties.  There is no need to make a firm commitment but to come as your schedule allows, and the group has made the commitment to keep all that is shared confidential.  It is a blessing to bring the needs of our children to the Lord and see Him work in their lives.  For meeting dates and more information, contact Rokelle Cavero – (206) 724-1792cavero@mac.com, or LaFon Jantz – (206) 999-2417lafonj@aplaceofhope.com.

Student Store
Opens Friday, September 22nd during all lunch recesses. Profits go to our Mission Projects.  Grades 1-6 may purchase. Kindergarten must have a parent with them.

DECA Students Partnering with Local Businesses
We are hosting a Holiday Trade Show on Tuesday November 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the King’s Garden Gym.  We have done trade shows in the past with between 1,500 and 2,000 people walking through and looking at our booths.  DECA students are working together to either create a booth or partner with a local business. If you have a small business and would be interested in partnering with a student to sell their product. There are three options for how a small business could contribute:

  • Option 1: The business could donate items which a student would sell with all proceeds benefiting our DECA program.
  • Option 2: The business could offer items on consignment in which a student would sell for the business. We would pay the cost value with all profits going to support King’s DECA.
  • Option 3: The business could set up a booth and sell the items themselves. They keep all the funds earned. This option has a $100 booth donation which must be received upon commitment of doing a booth. Donations must be payable to King’s Schools.

For more information please contact Cristina Cavero at ccavero6@gmail.com or 206-724-3662.

Medication at School
During the course of the school year, your child may need to take medication at school. A “Permission to Administer Medication Form” must be completed with a physician and parent signature. All medications, OVER-THE-COUNTER and PRESCRIPTION, require a completed form and must be in their original containers. Prescription medications, including inhalers must have a prescription label. Please label OVER-THE-COUNTER medications with your student’s first and last name. Forms are available in school office or on Parents Web.

Safety Patrol Leadership Positions
If your child is in 4th, 5th or 6th grade and he/she desires to serve in a leadership role, King’s Elementary Safety Patrol may be the perfect fit! Safety Patrol members will assist the CRISTA Security Team as crosswalk monitors at the intersection of 195th and Dayton Avenue North. A student orientation meeting will take place for all new and returning applicants in Room 40 (music portable) on Wednesday, September 20th at 11:45 a.m.   Mr. Glenn Morse and a school administrator will conduct the meeting.  The Safety Patrol Team will be on duty each morning from 7:55 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. and in the afternoon from 2:40 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Responsibilities will be shared on a rotating schedule. We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students as a valuable leadership experience! Mr. Kelly will contact your families for permission to serve. Carpool News!

Please read and review the Carpool Maps. If parents follow the plan, carpool runs smoothly.
All students are enrolled in King’s Kids Club. Carpool students not picked up by 3:00 p.m. will be signed into KKC.
