“Adventure Awaits” at Tolo 2017
This year’s Tolo will be held at the Nile Shrine Center just off the freeway on 205th. Tickets will be sold in the Student Lounge during lunch on October 16, 17 & 18. Two different types of tickets can be purchased. The $45 ticket includes dinner along with the dance and the $35 ticket pays only for admission to the dance. Students do not need a “date” to attend Tolo, in fact groups of students are encouraged to come together! Lots of additional details are available here and picture forms are available here.

Operation Christmas Child is Back!
Last year, we packed a total of 653 boxes and raised over $4,500 for Operation Christmas Child! With your help, we spread God’s love and provided hope to children in desperate need all over the world. This year, let’s see if we can go above 700 boxes and $5,000. There will be a competition between Block 3 classes for the most number of boxes. Collection begins on Monday, October 16th and goes through Friday, October 27th. Want more details? Please click here. If you are new to Operation Christmas Child and want to find out more, take a look at this video from Samaritan’s Purse: https://video.samaritanspurse.org/making-disciples-among-the-nations/.

KHS Senior Peter Kulits placed 3rd out of 112 competitors as best witness and Sophomore Naeha Geogy placed 11th out of 224 competitors in the best attorney competition. Way to go Knights!

Important Attendance Information
Attendance is of vital importance to our students to be successful at King’s High School. Please take a moment to read the information below regarding attendance.

Missing School for Two or More Days?
As the holidays approach, or anytime that your student will miss two or more days of school, please remember to contact the main office so we can have them complete a Pre-Arranged Absence form. You can send a note in with your student, call the office at (206) 546-7241, or email nwhite@kingsschools.org. We will need the dates the student will be gone and the reason for the absence. We will prepare the pre-arranged absence form and get it to your student.

Feeling Ill?
Lately we have been experiencing a lot of illness in our community. If your student has a fever, or has been experiencing symptoms of the flu, please keep your student home from school. With the end of the term and final exams approaching fast, we would like to keep our community as healthy as possible. Please Note: students must also provide the office with a note from their parent/guardian within forty-eight hours (two school days) after their return to school to avoid having the absence considered unexcused.

Need to Leave School Early?
If your student has an early dismissal from school, please notify Mrs. White as early in the day as possible so she can alert the teacher to the time your student needs to be released. Advance notice will help us minimize interruptions to the classroom while the teacher is conducting class.
