A BIG Thank You
Thanks for making the carnival such an amazing and fun community event! We pooled our God given gifts and talents and hosted a very successful fundraiser for our senior class raising almost $12,500. It was wonderful to watch a bustling sea of kids having such a good time. I think the seniors enjoyed it almost as much as the elementary kids! Over 75 parents helped in various capacities and each and every one of you were so appreciated. To top things off, the weather was gorgeous. Thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers during the process of organizing the carnival. It meant the world to me. Cari Echelbarger, you are an incredible mentor. What an amazing community we have! Alayne Thiel, Carnival Chair.
Please join us on Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Schirmer Auditorium for the King’s Autumn Music Concert featuring Abundant Life, Concert Choir and Chamber Orchestra. This is a free concert so plan to come and listen to beautiful music.

Notes From The Counselors:
College Visits on Campus: We have a number of colleges visiting King’s this fall. Please see the calendar outside the College Center or check out the list in Naviance. It is to your benefit to connect with the visiting admission counselor when they are on our campus. Please take time to meet them, even if you can just stop by.
Save the dates for the following college events:
- Wednesday, October 12th – Senior College Seminar Night, Library Commons at 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, January 19th – Junior College Seminar Night, Schirmer at 7:00 p.m.
Fall Focus Day: On Wednesday, October 19th King’s High School is hosting Fall Focus Day for all students. During the school day each class will engage in activities that focus on preparing for college life and beyond.
Freshmen will be visiting two college campuses; Shoreline Community and the University of Washington. Our goal is to help them begin looking beyond 9th grade and to encourage them to develop strengths and passions that will help them find the best fit college.
Sophomores will be taking the Aspire exam, a standardized test closely related to the ACT college entrance exam. Sophomores will have an extended lunch and a brain break activity in the afternoon.
Juniors will head to classrooms to take the PSAT. Juniors will have an extended lunch and will spend the afternoon hearing from visiting college representatives.
Seniors will spend the morning rotating between three life skills seminars. They will have an extended lunch, and in the afternoon will hear from visiting colleges.
