King’s Cyberknights proudly presents the Women in STEM conference in Seattle on October 15th in Schirmer Auditorium on the King’s Schools campus. The Women in STEM conference is designed to show young women that they too can rock the STEM field. Through inspiring speakers and joining with like-minded ladies, they hope to spark a passion for the STEM field in the hearts of young women from all around the world.
The Women in STEM conference was inspired by the gender gap in the STEM field. “I’ve always been passionate about getting more women interested in STEM because of the struggles I myself have faced and overcome,” said Cyberknight Lauren Stroemel. “I wanted to create an event that will help encourage the women and girls that are interested in STEM so they don’t lose hope and drop something that they might be gifted in.” What better way to inspire young ladies than to connect with other women who face similar trials, but hold the same passion in their hearts?
Keynote speaker Mrs. Deb Limb, the former Director of Structural Engineering at Boeing and current Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer at CRISTA, along with a panel of experienced STEM professionals will be sharing their experiences as women in the STEM field and giving advice to the next generation of women entering STEM through a question and answer section. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the STEM field from experienced professionals and to fellowship with other women with a passion for STEM. The conference will run from 1 pm – 4pm. Check in will begin at 12:45 pm. Space is limited! Parking will be available at King’s Garden Gym on the corner of 195th Ave and Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133.
