Grandparents’ Day Is Thursday, March 2, 2017!
Grandparents are important to us and to our students! Due to the overwhelming response to our last Grandparents’ Day and growth in our enrollment this year we need to move Grandparents’ Day to March 2, 2017. This move allows us to accommodate our grandparents in Schirmer Auditorium on the main campus. Grandparents will still visit classrooms and enjoy time with their grandchildren. Thank you for your understanding! Please fill out this form for your child’s grandparents whom you would like to be invited. Note – this is an invitation request form only, to be filled out by the parent. This is not an RSVP confirmation, invitations will be sent to grandparents. King’s Elementary Re-Accreditation
King’s Elementary is in the process of re-accreditation this school year! This process is completed every five years and involves compiling data about the school; soliciting feedback from students, parents, and teachers; evaluating student learning in the classroom; and receiving an external team of educators and researchers to review our findings.
We believe accreditation is an invaluable opportunity to see what is working in our classrooms and what areas we need to strengthen. Please take a moment to click on the link that was sent via email on Tuesday, November 8 to complete a brief 15-20 minute parent survey. All responses are anonymous and are due Wednesday, November 23. Thanks, in advance, for your input!
If your child owns a pair of shoes with “wheelies”, please remind them that they may be worn at school, but the wheels are not to be used while on our campus.
Lost and Found
Over 125 items need to be claimed. Please stop by and pick them up in the south breezeway. Last day for pick up is Wednesday, November 23, 2016. All left over items will be donated.
Holiday Service Opportunities
Is your family looking for an opportunity to serve over Thanksgiving weekend? Join us as we help the CRISTA Assisted Living communities decorate for Christmas! They will provide the decorations and we will provide the manpower. This is a great opportunity for all ages (and service hours can be earned for junior high and high school students)! Please email Krissie Smith at email@example.com if you can decorate on Sunday, November 27th at 12:00pm.
CRISTA Senior Living is in need of more volunteers for the annual CRISTA Nursing Center Resident & Family Thanksgiving Dinner! This is a great opportunity to both serve and bless our Senior Living residents. You are welcome to bring your whole family to help also on this day.

SCRIP During the Holidays
SCRIP: The holidays are approaching fast and it is a great time to take advantage of using SCRIP for all of your shopping and gift giving. Please refer to the Parent Calendar so that you know when the order deadlines and pick up dates are. The calendar is located on the King’s website in the parent section under SCRIP. Please note that there is no order pick up next week due to the holiday so if you are needing SCRIP for your Thanksgiving shopping we will be selling SCRIP TO GO on Monday Nov 21st from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m.
Auction Auction Save the Date postcards were mailed to families last week. If you haven’t marked it on your calendar yet…. be sure to note it today — 3/17/17, 5:30 pm at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Thank you for all the wonderful donations submitted. If you plan to do a bit of Black Friday shopping be sure to check out the Auction Amazon Wish List with a few amazing Black Friday specials. Donations can also be procured through local businesses, personal contacts or “connections”!
Annual Magazine Renewal and New Subscription Event If you would like to renew or subscribe to new magazines for the coming year, we are once again offering an online portal for your convenience. A portion of each order will go to our school and be used for curriculum enrichment at the elementary. Just go to the website for a list of selections. The website is available 365 days a year for your convenience! If you have any questions, please contact the school office and Mr. Kelly will provide assistance.

Any change in student pick-up at the end of the day needs to go through the office. This is the only way to be sure your student gets the message. If you send an email to the teacher, he/she may not be available to respond due to teaching students. Please Call Mrs. de Langen or Miss Soriano at 206-546-7258.
Emails and/or Phone Messages
Our school policy is that emails or phone messages from parents will be returned by the end of the next business day. Messages received on Fridays will be returned on Mondays.
Carpool Confusion at Drop-Off?

- Students should NEVER be dropped off anywhere on either side of Dayton Ave. N.
- Students should be dropped off INSIDE the carpool area.
Lunch with Your Children
Parent seating space at lunchtime is limited. Please wait until ALL students are seated to see if there is adequate space for you. You may end up kneeling or standing by your child! Thank you!
Moms in Prayer Time
All are welcome to join in the prayer group on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am upstairs in the intermediate building. Drop ins are welcome if you cannot make every Wednesday. Please sign in at the office upon arrival.
