Mutual Transformation Banquet
Everyone in the King’s community is invited to attend the Mutual Transformation Banquet on Thursday, January 12th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Aurora Church of the Nazarene. This interactive event was created by students to fund our school’s connection with Laos. The cost is $25.00 per person or $200.00 to host a table of eight. We would love to see you attend and support King’s Social Justice and the people of Laos. Student volunteers are able to earn service hours. For additional information about the banquet, see below:

This is the second chapter of King’s Social Justice’s (KSJ) relationship with World Concern and Laos. Continuing our work from the last few years, KSJ will be working alongside Laos staff to help with things like food security, education, and human trafficking prevention. Through the World Concern staff in country, we are working to toward access to education, human trafficking prevention, and stemming the spread of diseases like HIV/AIDS.

In this next stage, with a new community in Laos, KSJ students are pursuing an avenue that directly connects young people from King’s with young people from the Lao community through learning each other’s stories. While monetary support will continue to go to the grassroots work in Laos, you are ultimately investing in human lives, both in the lives of the young people being changed at King’s as well as the young people in Laos. In the pursuit to create healthy thriving communities in Laos, we are realizing how blessed we are, but also how similar we are to Lao communities. While it seems we are always looking for deficits and how to fix things, what really stirs our souls is that we are all made in God’s image, and because of that, we must journey together, regardless of differences, toward lives filled with hope, peace, and health.

The attachment can be printed to invite your friends. Looking forward to seeing you there!
