At the Table with Dr. King

Sixth through twelfth grade King’s students (and some second graders) received a challenge this week: “to listen for and respond to the unique call upon their lives.” King’s hosted “At the Table with Dr. King,” a one-hour dramatic presentation of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the midnight phone call that resulted in him hearing God’s clear call on his life.  Using live music, spoken word and multi-media, performers taught a history lesson while inspiring in us a desire to create hope, to have compassion and to serve others in our communities.

Fun note: David LeMieux, the Executive Director of More Than Music, the group that created and performs “At the Table with Dr. King,” is the brother of our very own second grade teacher, Rachel White.
