Junior Senior Ball
The Class of 2018 is proud to present the 2017 Junior Senior Ball which will take place at the Seattle Aquarium, 1483 Alaska Way, on Friday May 5th from 7:45 to 10:45 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: This is a change in time! There is no school that day. Details are as follows:
Tickets are on sale through Friday, April 21; Seniors $25, Juniors $50, and outsiders and underclassmen $80.00, all 3 prices reduced from last year. Dress is formal. Parking is available at a large but fairly empty parking lot across the street to the north, under the Viaduct, which requires a short walk around a construction fence in front of the Aquarium. Several restaurants in price categories from low to high are within walking distance, and the Seattle Great Wheel, next door to the Aquarium, is open until midnight.
A well-stocked and varied dessert buffet, with a signature mocktail, will be served during the dance. The dance will be held in the Great Hall, the large room at the front of the Aquarium with the 400,000 gallon tank. The Otter Show is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. and the galleries will be open until 10:00. The tidal pool will be open until 30 minutes before closing. David and his talented crew from Classic Images will again be on site, upstairs, for photographs. If you have any questions, please contact the Junior class faculty advisor, Bob Fretz, at email@example.com.
Teacher Appreciation Week is Just Around the Corner…
…and we have some wonderful things in store for our teachers and staff! Please help us say “THANK YOU” to them. At King’s, we’re incredibly blessed to have an amazing community of teachers and staff who care deeply about our children. In recognition for all they do, please help us treat them to a special week of thoughtful treats from the King’s High School Parents.
Signing up to help is easy! Just click on the link below then send in cash (preferred) or a check (payable to Jaymie Cizek) to Mrs. White in the main office. Please send in your donation by Friday, April 28th. Thanks in advance! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4aa8ae2aa7fb6-teacher1
ONE MORE THING… if you and/or your High School student could write a brief note of appreciation to the teachers and staff (pick an extra special one, or choose all) and include the note(s) with your cash/check by April 28th, that would be great! If you’re in a pinch, consider an email (just put ‘THANK YOU’ in the subject line so they don’t think it’s an urgent parent/student email). http://kingsschools.org/parents/staff-directory/

UW Research Project
King’s students, ages 15 and above, are invited to participate in Project Network, a study aiming to explore adolescents’ and young adults’ lifestyles and health choices. The study is being done by the University of Washington’s Center for the Study of Health & Risk Behaviors in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. This is the department that includes Dr. Jason Kilmer who presented a powerful presentation on addiction to students and parents at King’s this spring. More information is available at: http://depts.washington.edu/unetwork/index.html). Students can earn up to $75 for their participation.
Want to be a cheerleader for the 2017-2018 school year? Tryouts are just around the corner! If you are interested in cheering for either fall OR winter season you are required to attend a lunch meeting in Ms. Wasson’s classroom in Ella K. Ness Hall Room 301 on April 25th. In addition, there will be a mandatory parents’ meeting on April 25th at 7:00 pm in Ms. Wasson’s classroom in Ella K. Ness Hall Room 301 for parents/guardians of students interested in becoming a cheerleader. Tryouts will be May 22-25th from 3:15-5:00 in King’s Garden Gym.

Take Root will be an all-day conference on May 13th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm with a keynote speaker, worship, and small group sessions to help you grow more in your relationship with Christ.
