Thank you to everyone who took the time pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. If you would still like to participate, it’s not too late! Bring your filled shoebox directly to Mrs. Archer on Monday. It won’t get counted for the competition, but it will still provide hope to a child in desperate need. In chapel last week, we heard Alina Aisina’s story of receiving a shoebox as a child and the profound impact that had on her life. Here is the video link if you would like to watch the full interview: https://sp.box.com/s/w3ylznti361j81n4zjg1rehmokmw0vri. Next Wednesday, November 1st, we will be having a “Christmas Party” from 3:15 to 4:45 in the Bundrant Ness Center, Room 205, to check the shoeboxes and pack them in their shipping containers. Mrs. Archer is looking for 3 parent volunteers to help provide treats and 35 student volunteers to check the boxes. Service hours are available! Come for some cookies and Christmas music as we pray over the boxes and get them ready to send. Contact Mrs. Archer to sign up firstname.lastname@example.org.

Important Final Exam Information
End-of-semester final exams are scheduled for Monday, November 6th and Tuesday, November 7th. School is dismissed at 12:30 on November 7th and there is no school on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Final exams need to be taken on the day and time scheduled. Students are not permitted to take early or late finals except in cases of illness or exceptional circumstances. Exceptions must be pre-approved by the principal. Family vacations do not constitute exceptional circumstances. Non-approved absences result in a “0” grade on the final exam. During final exams, students are required to be in classes like regular school days. The regular school attendance policy will apply to all absences. For planning purposes, the end-of-term final exams are scheduled for January 24, 25 and 26.
If you have received notification that your student has exceeded the number of allowable absences and you wish to appeal those absences, “Attendance Appeal” forms are available from Mrs. Kelly. The deadline to appeal absences for this semester is Friday, November 17th. Appeals received after the deadline will not be considered. You can find the KHS Attendance Policy in the KnightGuide.
