Santa Claus is Coming To King’s! Alumni Help Raise Funds for King’s Missions
Do you love getting professional family photos with Santa? This year, plan to get them at King’s! King’s is pleased to announce that two of our alumni, Macy’s Santa Karl Beals and Photographer Becca Howell, will be on campus Wednesday, December 6  with NEW HOURS from 4:00–9:00 p.m. for a Santa Photo fundraiser. This event will be one night only in Reimer Library in the CRISTA Administration Building. Proceeds will benefit King’s High School’s Spring mission trip to Kenya. Please click here to reserve your spot with Santa!

Due to high demand an hour has been added, so pictures will start at 4 p.m. There will also be a gourmet hot chocolate bar and bake sale with proceeds going to the mission trip.

Cookie Decoratining with our Principal!
Each December Mrs. Huling decorates cookies with all our K-6 students.  This year, it will be December 11-14!

All Pro Dads
Calling all fathers of elementary students! Our next All Pro Dads meeting will be December 5th (see flyer). Our chapter meets on the first Tuesday morning of each month at 7:15 a.m. at the King’s Garden Gym (195th & Greenwood). This is a fun time of connection with a continental breakfast, fellowship and activities for dads and their kids. Twenty dads and their kids came to our first meeting, and Coach Shapiro (high school football) shared encouragement and tips on being an All Pro Dad. To RSVP and learn more about All Pro Dads, visit www.allprodadsday.com/chapters/10753. If you have questions, please contact Dan Taylor at knights.in.gods.armor@gmail.com or 206-790-2377.

SCRIP News
Check Payments:  Please be sure to put check payments in the SCRIP Drop Box located in the High School across from the main office. This ensures that we will have the payment so the order can be processed on time.  Orders without payments are not processed until the checks are received at the SCRIP office.  Checks left at the Elementary or other offices that are sent through inter office mail may not reach the SCRIP office in time to be included in the order, so please be aware that your order may be delayed until the next order deadline.

SCRIP Coordinator:  The SCRIP coordinator will be retiring after this year and the program is looking for someone who is able to take over the program starting next school year.  It is an easy job, does not require a lot of time, and benefits many families at King’s.  If you are interested, please contact Val Scheevel at scrip@kingsschools.org.  Training can begin next semester for plenty of time to get comfortable with the program.

Vacations During School
King’s Elementary values educational excellence.  The instruction your students receive everyday by outstanding, quality teachers reflect that process.  The challenging curricular instruction with Math, Reading, Writing, Spelling and Grammar, Science, Social Studies, Bible and Specialists, cannot be replicated outside the classroom through make-up work.  When your children miss a day of school, they are missing critical concepts that build on one another providing a solid foundation of learning.  We would ask that you carefully consider not taking vacations during academic teaching time but instead plan your trips as much as possible during regularly scheduled breaks on the school calendar.
