Preschoolers Share Warmth & Cheer This Christmas

King’s Preschool, in partnership with Scholastic, is blessing children at Mary’s Place with gifts of new pajamas and books for Christmas. Starting in November, preschool students began collecting PJs for kids who live in shelters. Scholastic is donating a book to go with each pair of PJ’s.

“This was our first year doing the pajama drive,” said Preschool Administrative Assistant Elise Sizer. “It was great and if Scholastic continues to do this type of thing, I think we will make it an annual event.”

Altogether, the students collected 33 pairs of new, warm pajamas ranging in size from 3 months to 10 years old. King’s staff will deliver the gifts to Mary’s Place this Saturday. Their hope is that families will feel loved this season and that good nights will lead to good days, too.

This week, our preschoolers also blessed the seniors at Cristwood by singing Christmas songs for them in their chapel. They received a blessing in return with many heartfelt thank you’s and a surprise visit from Santa, who gave each student a candy cane after their performances.
