Coach Gabelein named “Coach of the Year,” Katie Stella MVP

Congratulations to Coach Nicole Gabelein, who was named soccer’s Class 1A All-State Coach of the Year by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association!

King’s Athletic Director Rick Skeen said, “Coach Gabelein is a terrific soccer coach and an even better role model for our athletes.  Her passion and desire to help our student athletes reach their full potential is a big reason why she was named Coach of the Year.  I want to congratulate Coach Gabelein for this very well deserved award.”

Katie Stella was also named 2017’s Class 1A Girls Most Valuable Player. Emma Culberson made 2nd Team Defender and Emma Fleming made Honorable Mention Midfielder as well.

“Also a big congratulations to Katie Stella, Emma Culberson and Emma Fleming for their well deserved recognition,” continued Mr. Skeen.  “All three have put hundreds and hundreds of hours into becoming the soccer players they are today.  All three are also terrific students and wonderful young women who represent what King’s High School is truly all about.”
