Jr. High Winter Social tonight!
Tonight is the Jr. High Winter Social.  The theme is “White Out” and students are encouraged to wear a lot of white.   The party will be in King’s Garden Gym, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.  You can drop off your student like morning carpool and parents will be at the gym entrance to help students unload and then the same for pick up at 8:30.  Thank you.

Carpool Reminders
As you drop off your student in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, please remember to pull up as far as you can in the King’s Garden Gym parking lot so traffic is not lined up on the street.  Please don’t stop at the pathway closest to the entrance they will use, but pull up all the way in front of the gym, if you can, so the back-up does not block the street.  We appreciate everyone’s help with this.

Booster Club Looking for Treasurer
If you are interested in supporting the Booster Club and our student athletes, we would love to hear from you! The Booster Club is a parent-run group organized to support the junior high and senior high coaches, their programs, and our athletes with funding that goes beyond the school budget and the coaches’ salaries. Our mission is to work behind the scenes providing support to King’s athletic program. The commitment for the position of Treasurer is a monthly board meeting held on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. (August through June), reviews with the King’s Schools accountant, as well as handling incoming and outgoing expenses. We are looking to fill this position immediately. If you would like to join us, please contact Jill Morehead at (206) 769-2222 or [email protected].

SCRIP Information
Reminder:  There is no order deadline on January 22 as previously published.  The coordinator has jury duty and will not be available.  The next order deadline for plastic cards will be February 5.  SCRIPNOW and Reloads are available any time when paying with Presto Pay.

Coordinator needed:  The SCRIP program will need a new coordinator starting next school year.  It only requires a few hours each week (Monday and Thursday mornings when school is in session) and you receive a tuition discount.  If you are interested, please contact Val Scheevel at [email protected] to begin training as soon as possible.

Important: Information or changes about the SCRIP program will be posted on the King’s SCRIP Facebook page and also in Parent Post.  Please be sure to check the SCRIP Facebook page often and read the Parent Post each week.  The SCRIP section at www.kingsschools.org contains detailed information about how the SCRIP program works.

STEM Presentation
Ally and Alana, two students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, gave an informative and engaging presentation to our girls about STEM.  The interactive presentation included information about careers in STEM, pathways to STEM majors in college and ideas for STEM camps and experiences in our local community.  The girls sent coded DNA messages to one another and they also built spectroscopes.  It was a great presentation!
