King’s Elementary Student Dress Code
King’s Schools has determined that the following guidelines for dress apply at school and at King’s related activities unless otherwise stated:
- Tops need to cover the midriff, the back, and should not be low cut.
- Clothing should not be sheer or excessively tight.
- Skirts without leggings or shorts need to be no more than 5 inches from the middle of the knee.
- Tank tops must cover the majority of the shoulder and side. No spaghetti straps, open backs or open-sided tanks.
- Caps/hats are not to be worn inside the buildings or KIDS Praise by either girls or boys.
- Elementary students may not wear flip-flops or shoes without backs.
CLASS PLACEMENT POLICY 2018-2019
We are actively planning for the 2018 – 2019 school year and your child will soon be promoted to the next grade! Your child’s current classroom teacher places your child with a teacher for 2018 – 2019. There is an extensive process that goes into creating a well-balanced class and selecting your child’s teacher is not an easy process. Tentative class lists are compiled the middle of May and are then reviewed by the principal’s office. In August all class lists are again reviewed before being finalized.
For students with documented educational special needs parents should email, call or request an appointment with Mrs. Huling if you have concerns. The principal’s office will discuss these needs with the teacher when class lists are compiled. The deadline to submit parent letters is May 18, 2018.
Students are placed with teachers in the best educational setting for the students. Class lists are confidential. Please do not put teachers in an awkward position by requesting personal information concerning other teachers, students and/or requesting the “inside track” on your child’s placement. This is unfair and unacceptable at King’s Elementary School.
We appreciate your support on this issue. Thank you!
