Christmas Decorating Event

Come spread the Christmas cheer and join the parent council and Mr. Ruhlman as we decorate the high school for our students! We are looking for all volunteers! Parents, grandparents, and high school students are welcome (students will receive service hours)! When: Sunday November 25, 3:00pm – 5:00pm approx (after the Seahawks game). Bring some cookies or sweets to share, or come nibble on some goodies provided by Parent Council! Hope to see you there!

Mission Trips – Application Deadline Extended!

The Borderlands, Jamaica and Costa Rica mission trips have extended their application deadline and are looking for more students! For more information on the Borderlands mission trip, contact Mrs. Lewis  at klewis@kingsschools.org. For information on the Jamaica trip, contact Mrs. Jansen at rtblackmer@hotmail.com. For information on the Costa Rica trip, contact Mrs. Shorack at kshorack@kingsschools.org.

Speech and Debate Team

Congratulations to King’s first ever Speech and Debate team! They have competed in three tournaments thus far—the Kamiak Novice Tournament, Sedro-Woolley Invitational, and Snohomish Invitational–coming home with awards in each. The following have placed in the Top 3 of their respective events in at least one of the three tournaments: Seniors Joanne Yi, Alexandra Christophilis, and Olivia Schoenfeld, Sophomores Victoria Smith, Elizabeth Anderson, and James Fu.  Freshman Grayson Ellard in Original Oratory; Sophomores Claire Gallagher and Kat Kirkpatrick in Expository; Junior Aim Niamnud and Sophomores Lucy Bogen, Sam Hutmacher, and Victoria Smith in Impromptu; Sophomore Toby Clark in Extemporaneous; Sophomores Dalton Schwab and Sam Hutmacher in Duo Interpretation; Sophomores Jay Jang and Toby Clark in Public Forum Debate; and Senior Gavin Kane and Junior Aim Niamnud in Congressional Debate. Further, in the last two tournaments, Claire Gallagher (Expository), Victoria Smith (Oratory and Impromptu), and Dalton Schwab/Sam Hutmacher (Duo Interpretation) have already qualified for the State Tournament at UPS in March—their four bids currently leads the district’s division. Go Knights!

Santa Claus is Coming to King’s!

King’s Schools is pleased to announce that two of our alumni, Macy’s Santa Karl Beals and Photographer Becca Howell, will be on campus for a Santa Photo fundraiser. This event will be one night only, Wednesday, December 5th from 3:30-8pm. Sign up for photos here!
