This year, King County recognized King’s Elementary and King’s High School as Sustaining Green Schools for the 2018-2019 school year.
The mission of the Green School Program is to provide King County Schools and school districts with tools and support needed to:
- Initiate and expand waste reduction and recycling practices and other conservation actions
- Involve the whole school community in environmental stewardship.
- Operate environmentally efficient and responsible facilities.
This program has assisted 14 school districts and over 300 schools improve conservation practices by involving students in conservation and outreach efforts.
Recognition as a Sustaining Green School is a great honor and we are so proud of our students, faculty, and staff who strive to make King’s an eco-friendly place!
