Jr. High Weekly News | September 6

Please contact Janet Hicks at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Our theme for the school year is #WeWill and our verse is Joshua 22:5: “Love the Lord your God, walk in all His ways, obey His commands, hold firmly to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”  Students will be given t-shirts with this theme verse on it and are encouraged to wear them to chapel every Friday.  An emphasis in every chapel will come from this verse.

Upcoming Armor Adventure & Armor Blast

We are looking forward to our 8th grade Armor Adventure and our 7th grade Armor blast next week!  The students will strengthen friendships, make new friends, be challenged and inspired.  A significant part of both events will be a focus on our theme for the year – #WeWill!  Please pray for our students and faculty as we embark on these great activities!

One to one Surfaces

This year we are launching a one to one Surface program.  Students have been assigned a specific Surface and will retrieve it from the charging station in their first block class. All students will return their Surfaces to the assigned charging station at the end of the day.  Each student will use the same Surface all year and be responsible for it.  We are still ironing a few things out, but it is ultimately going to solve many of our connectivity issues and will help us use these great tech tools more efficiently.  Students are not to take their Surfaces home.  Also, students must use school-provided Surfaces, as they have all been imaged through our IT department.  They will be required to purchase their own Surfaces when they enter King’s High School.

If your kids have mentioned the long, slow lunch line, please be patient!  It takes a few days for everyone to learn (or re-learn) the system.  Within a few short days, everything will fall into place and there will be plenty of time to get lunch, eat lunch and get to class on time!  In the meantime, we are all being flexible while we get it smoothed out.  Please call the junior high office if you need to get your student’s ID # to put money on their lunch account.

Service Opportunity for Students

Mr. Wright is looking for student workers to help at Junior High athletic events this year. He needs helpers for football, volleyball, girls and boys basketball, and soccer. Please contact him by stopping by or emailing [email protected] if interested.
