 LA CASA Mission Project

MISSION: POSSIBLE is the theme for King’s Elementary Missions this year!  Through our projects and experiences, students are learning the importance of missions, gaining perspective, realizing God’s desired to use kids, and understanding that missions is working WITH others and that meeting physical needs through relationship can also meet spiritual needs. Jesus was the perfect example!

For 24 years, the La Casa Project has brought King’s families together with families in Tijuana, Mexico to realize the dreams of owning a home. Each year the students of King’s Elementary join with a family in Tijuana to achieve that family’s dream of homeownership. While the family raises money for their land, students raise money for the house. Partnered together with Baja Christian Ministries, we all build a home. Over Spring Break a team of King’s Elementary families will travel to Mexico to help build a house, while also building relationships to share the love of Christ.

Raising Support:  In order to build a home, we need your financial help.  Please be on the lookout for information on how you and your child can make this mission a reality through a new interactive walk-a-thon fundraiser called, Laps for La Casa.

Host a MeySen Academy Student!

Each year King’s Elementary 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students have the opportunity to host   MeySen Academy elementary students from Japan!  These Japanese students have been in an English Immersion Program where they have learned all about American culture and the US.  They are now ready to experience American family life!

This year we need 23 host families for the MeySen Academy students who will spend 3 ½ days immersed in a cultural experience at King’s Elementary on March 24 – 27, 2020.  We are excited to partner with MeySen and know that you will not only enjoy hosting students, but you will be immensely blessed because of it!  Please RSVP to Holly von Seggern for more information at [email protected] or call 206-546-7258 if you are interested.

Vacations During School

King’s Elementary asks that you carefully consider not taking vacations during academic teaching time but instead plan your trips as much as possible during regularly scheduled breaks on the school calendar.
