Laps for La Casa Jog-a-thon: Wednesday, March 11, 2020
Incredible! The generosity of our community has been astounding. We are so excited for what God is going to do through our La Casa mission project for this year and years to come. We have seen enthusiasm from all our students as we partner with the Peralta-Rayo family in Mexico to build them a home. We have nearly doubled our school wide fund-raising goal! We are grateful for the resources to continue the proclamation and the demonstration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Below is the schedule and a couple of reminders:

Wednesday, March 11th
6th Grade 8:30 am – 9:15 am
Kindergarten & 1st Grade 9:30 am – 10:15 am
2nd & 3rd Grade 10:30 am – 11:15 am
4th & 5th Grade 11:30 am – 12:15 pm

We would love for families to join us down at Woolsey Stadium. You can watch, walk, jog, or just give out some high fives! We are looking forward to running 1,000 miles to Tijuana!!

Thank you for your partnership in teaching our students to be Christ in action!

Discovery Fridays and KIDS Praise Report
Over the past few weeks, we have been highlighting themes from our Discovery Friday STEAM curriculum at KIDS Praise.  We have asked speakers to share with students how they see God in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math.
Jr. High School Science teacher Mrs. Jo Lindblad shared with students about how we see God’s fingerprints in science and how science helps us know God with deep understanding.
World Concern staff member Mr. Peter Macharia, spoke about the use of technology at World Concern to connect a global staff across time zones and shared innovative ways technology is used to care for others around the world.  Students listened to the Bible in Arabic on a small solar powered Talking Bible – an amazing use of technology to share God’s Word!
Mr. Randy Larsen spoke with students about God’s call on his life to use his education as a civil engineer to bring clean water to those in need.  He shared about the work of Engineering Ministries International, a community of engineers and architects seeking to “develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church” around the world.

We hope these moments are inviting students to see the beauty and goodness of God all around them and make connections between their faith and their studies.
