We trust you had a blessed Easter with your families. We serve an incredible God, the source of inexplicable joy, hope and peace. We praise the Lord for you and your children and are continuing to pray for you on a daily basis during this unusual time as many of you are facing difficult circumstances. Please reach out to us and let us know if we can assist you in any way. We pray the Lord’s blessings on you and all those who you love.
YOU are Missed
It is strange to go by King’s Elementary School and it is totally empty everywhere you look! Access gates to the campus are taped off with caution tape and there are posted signs closing the playground. No one is on campus, not even our neighbors. There are no teachers or laughter and noise from our students. There is just silence. It is eerie. And yet, in spite of these empty classrooms and grounds, teachers are remote teaching each day and your children are learning in new and different ways. Teams, Seesaw, Zoom meetings, videos, one-on-one tutoring, specialists enrichment activities, and dedicated teachers working hard making a difference each day. THANK YOU for your encouragement to your teachers as they continue to navigate through remote teaching and loving your children from afar. We miss all of you and look forward to when school resumes and we can be together again!
The two La Casa homes from King’s Elementary are built and the families are currently living in them, safe and warm. Due to your generous giving we were also able to provide beds, mattresses, a kitchen table and chairs, a stove, and a refrigerator for each family. Baja Christian Ministries (BCM) sent us video and pictures as the staff, volunteers and the families were working on the houses. We praise God for His goodness – King’s families provided the finances, and the Lord provided the workers. (Our La Casa song says, “And the Lord builds La Casa!) Thank you, parents from the bottom of our hearts for your contributions to this life changing mission project. More information will be coming!
Thank you, parents and families! The Food Drive for Nourishing Network in Edmonds was a tremendous success! Once again, King’s families were overwhelmingly generous. It was great to see many of our students, connect with you face-to-face, catch up for a few minutes on what you have been doing, all while maintaining our social distancing.
