 Welcome 4th Grade

We are excited and thankful to have our 4th graders on campus with our K-3 students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, starting Monday, October 12th!

5th Grade

Our 5th-grade students will all be on campus together on Mondays and Thursdays!  Yea!

Thank You, Parents and Parent Council!

It has been an amazing week for teachers and staff as we have traveled around the world sampling foods and beverages provided by all of you!  The Appreciation Luncheon was incredible, and we are so grateful.  We cannot thank you enough for your thoughtfulness and support.  You are awesome parents and we have been blessed!  Thank You!!

 Student Mask Protocols

Please be sure to check the fit of the face-covering/mask your child is wearing to school.  Masks that hang below the nose or are loose do not meet the guidelines.

Masks need to:

  • Cover nose and mouth and under the chin
  • Fit snuggly against the sides of the face

Our students love wearing the King’s masks that were given out at the beginning of the year, however, they were designed for older students and do not fit most of our K-6 students according to Mask Protocol.

Please be sure to have extra masks in your student’s backpack for backup.  Thank you!

Please follow protocols for early dismissal, appointments or picking up work due to absences at the office.  When you are in the parking lot call the office.  Remain in your car.  We will walk your child and/or books and work out to you.  Thank you!

Lastly, a big thank you to all the families that contributed to Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, sent luggage tag thank you notes, or acknowledged a teacher or staff member this week!

Online Christian Book Fair – October 16-26, 2020

We are pleased to partner with I:55, a Christian-based book fair, to offer the opportunity to purchase books for your children in a safe environment and support our school! I:55 carefully researches and selects books that hold to Biblical values.  See attached flyer.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16), thus the is Bible the lens through which we filter our business practices and the products we sell.   I:55 Book Fairs

Books will be shipped directly to your home, and King’s Elementary will receive 25% of all sales to help support our school.  We hope you find great resources that will help you engage your students.

Mondays and Fridays are school spirit days whether students are on campus or remote!  Wear your school colors – red & white and celebrate our school!   Classes within their grade levels may compete to see who has the most school spirit!

Office Communications

When you are emailing the office, please be sure to email Mrs. de Langen at [email protected] and Mrs. Kim Gillies at [email protected].

Any change in student pick-up at the end of the day needs to go through the office.  This is the only way to be sure your student gets the message.  Please call the office at  206-546-7258 by 2:00pm.

King’s Kids Club

King’s Kids Club (KKC) is in full swing! Before school care is from 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. and after school care is from the end of the school day to 6:00 p.m.  Space is limited.  KKC follows the school calendar.  Contact Kim Gillies with questions at [email protected].

 KIDS Praise!

KIDS Praise is on Wednesdays at 8:45 am!  Join your son or daughter virtually for KIDS Praise led by our Student Ministries Coordinator, Mrs. Hoke.

 Kindergarten Carpool

Thank you for your cooperation in providing a safe environment for drop-off and pick-up.  We appreciate your patience.

Grades 1-6 Carpool

Do you want to avoid waiting so LONG in  carpool?  You can solve that problem by coming later and joining the 2nd wave of cars.  Yesterday all of carpool was done by 2:50 pm – that’s 30 minutes from beginning (2:20 pm-2:50 pm) to the last car exiting!  If you are waiting an hour before carpool/dismissal even begins, you have arrived on campus too early!

 Medication at School

During the course of the school year, your child may need to take medication at school. A “Permission to Administer Medication Form” must be completed with a physician and parent signature. All medications, OVER-THE-COUNTER and PRESCRIPTION, require a completed form and must be in their original containers. Prescription medications, including inhalers, must have a prescription label. Please label OVER-THE-COUNTER medications with your student’s first and last name. Forms are available in the school office or on Parents Web.
