 JOIN THE KING’S HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA! 

*The Fall after school orchestra class is a prerequisite for the Spring Orchestra Class.  High school students who are proficient in an orchestral instrument may join the high school orchestra.  In the Fall, this is an after-school program that is structured to meet after school on Wednesdays (2:00-3:30 p.m.) in Schirmer Auditorium.  The first on-site rehearsal will begin on October 21st.

*In the Spring, the orchestra class will be offered during 3rd block. As part of the Spring orchestra class, students will be required to perform in the Spring musical with the Advanced Drama class.

Fall Focus Day is October 14th

Wednesday, October 14th is Fall Focus Day for all high school students. During this half-day, each class will engage in activities that focus on preparing for life after high school. Many more details will be provided in the coming days. Please add this date to your calendar, as we view this as an important event for every student. Attendance will be taken at every grade level event.

  • Freshmen will be remotely working with Mr. Kuyper through the TEAMS page entitled, Freshman Counseling Center. Freshmen will be working on self-exploration through the Enneagram and connecting how this personal knowledge can be applied to many facets of life, including academics, college planning, and career goals.
  • Sophomores will be working remotely through TEAMS on the page entitled, Sophomore Counseling Center.  Sophomores will begin to navigate Naviance, our college planning software.  Workshops on resume building, college searches, and career exploration will fill their day.
  • Juniors will be on campus taking the PSAT. Classroom assignments will be emailed home prior to testing. #2 pencils and calculators are required. Clear pass screenings and masks apply. Testing will begin promptly at 9 am and may go into the 1 pm hour to ensure the full testing time is provided.
  • Seniors will spend the morning remotely working with Mrs. Fairchild via TEAMS page, Senior College Counseling 2020/21.  Seniors will be rotating between different workshops that apply to their personal journey, from essay writing, community college applications, common apps or just starting the college search process.  Mrs. Fairchild is ready to help you get started and move forward from where you are.
