6th Grade Parents: Schedule Adjustment

October 19 – 23 is next week!  Please note that 6th-grade students are on campus Tuesday, October 20th, and Wednesday, October 21st.

Service Day

Who is your neighbor?

Our first ever King’s Remote Service Day is coming up on Friday, October 23rd.  During our four Remote Service Days this year, our students will be taking part in various service opportunities.  Students will have a choice in how they want to serve remotely that day.  A “Who is your neighbor?” Choice Board will be sent home on October 15/16 with lots of ideas for any elementary student to begin to plan how they will make a difference for others in the name of Jesus.  If students have another service idea, there are blank spots on the choice board for them to write in their creative idea.  We want all our students to realize that “Every Little Gift Matters.”

Remote Service Days: October 23, January 25, January 26, May 7

 Schedule:

8:30 am Class Meeting with Homeroom Teacher on TEAMS

8:45-9:15 am KIDS Praise – Missions Focus

9:15 am-2:30 pm Serve at Home Remotely- Choice Board Ideas

**Please send a photo or short description of your project to your teacher for the class discussion and sharing time.

**All Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes or snack bags for Casino Road Kids Ministry can be brought to school to be turned in during the week following the Remote Service Day.

The Blessing – King’s Elementary Video Project

All Elementary students are invited to participate and submit a video.  The deadline is October 31, 2020.  Please see the attachment for all the details.

Student Mask Protocols

Please be sure to check the fit of the face-covering/mask your child is wearing to school.  Masks that hang below the nose or are loose do not meet the guidelines.

Masks need to:

  • Cover nose and mouth and under the chin
  • Fit snuggly against the sides of the face

Our students love wearing the King’s masks that were given out at the beginning of the year, however, they were designed for older students and do not fit most of our K-6 students according to Mask Protocol.

Please be sure to have extra masks in your student’s backpack for backup.  Thank you!

Parents: Follow Protocols Please!

  • Please follow protocols for early dismissal, appointments, or picking up work due to absences at the office. When you are in the parking lot call the office.  Remain in your car.  We will walk your child and/or books out to you.  Thank you!
  • After-school pick-up – please do not park your cars and walk to pick up your students. We need you to follow protocol and go through carpool to pick up your child.  Carpool has been finishing by 2:50 pm.

Office Communications

When you are emailing the office, please be sure to email Mrs. de Langen at mdelangen@kingsschools.org and Mrs. Kim Gillies at kgillies@kingsschools.org.

Any change in student pick-up at the end of the day needs to go through the office.  This is the only way to be sure your student gets the message.  Please call the office at  206-546-7258 by 2:00 pm.

 Medication at School

During the course of the school year, your child may need to take medication at school. A “Permission to Administer Medication Form” must be completed with a physician and parent signature. All medications, OVER-THE-COUNTER and PRESCRIPTION, require a completed form and must be in their original containers. Prescription medications, including inhalers, must have a prescription label. Please label OVER-THE-COUNTER medications with your student’s first and last name. Forms are available in the school office or on Parents Web.
