Hi KHS! Next Friday, November 20th ASB is teaming up with professionals from Virtual Escape Games in order to host a Virtual Escape Room Event from 4:30 pm- 6:00 pm! We will send out a zoom link before the event, and all you have to do is click the link and join the call! From there, an employee from Virtual Escape Games will explain the game backstory and divide all participants into groups! Each group will be competing to complete the escape room the fastest. The award-winning escape room is called Rec: Escape the ‘80s Workout VHS. This game is perfect for people who enjoy funky tunes, belly-aching laughter, dancing, unique puzzles, and of course, the ‘80s! ASB is encouraging everyone to wear funky ‘80s clothing during the call to get into character for the event (suggested but not mandatory)! There is no cost required for this event! Just Join the zoom call and get ready to travel back in time to the ‘80s! I hope to see you all there!

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING THIS EVENT, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FILL OUT THIS MICROSOFT FORM! It is only three questions, and it will tremendously help ASB because we need a general estimate of the number of people who are planning on coming! Also, if you would not like to be placed into a random group, Microsoft Forms gives you an opportunity to write down the names of individuals you would like to be grouped with. ASB cannot promise that the groups will be perfect, but we will do our best. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=y_bRWSACFECkyDEm7412hNOvHrqb2q9OjVCfp3Sa7zNUQVA0NkRMUUVVMVhaV1U1UlY5WktOSE1VSC4u

 Thank You, Mrs. Fairchild

The Senior Council wanted to recognize Mrs. Fairchild for her support and consistent encouragement she gives not only to the council but to the entire senior class! On Monday Isaiah Bullock presented Mrs. Fairchild with a bouquet of flowers and letters of thanks. We appreciate you, Mrs. Fairchild!

King’s Speech and Debate

King’s senior Jay Jang was awarded the National Speech & Debate Association’s Academic All American award! This coveted award recognizes academic rigor, competitive speech and debate success, and personal excellence. Of more than 141,000 student members of the National Speech & Debate Association, fewer than 1% earn this award. This tremendous accomplishment places Jay among the top one percent of all student members in the country! We are incredibly proud of Jay and his accomplishments in Speech & Debate!

King’s Mock Trial

This past weekend, King’s High School mock trial competed in Empire New York One, the elite, international mock trial competition holding its first virtual competition.  Our students faced four very challenging opponents who have each either won Empire competitions in the past or won their state or countries top awards.  Out of 40 teams coming from various States and four other countries, King’s placed 6th while touting the strongest strength of schedule.  Kat Kirkpatrick and Duncan Angiuli were both honored with best witness awards.  The team comprised of Kat Kirkpatrick, Duncan Angiuli, Colton Fleming, Victoria Smith, and Grace Echelbarger were led by team captains, Essix Kelly and Kathryn Morris.  The team was coached by Marian Morris, Paul Brown, Mo Hamoudi, and Sonja Leite.
